What We Do

Building a home base in the mountains.

We're creating a home base for trail runners and mountain enthusiasts in the Japanese Alps. A place where people can train consistently, explore new routes and connect with others who want meaningful time outdoors.

We wanted this for ourselves first. Not for weekends or vacations, but as part of regular life. Somewhere to base ourselves in the mountains, train regularly, and be around others who want outdoor time to be central, not occasional.

That kind of infrastructure doesn't really exist in Japan. Trail running communities are mostly weekend-focused or event-based. There isn't much that supports staying longer, building routines, or developing familiarity with the mountains over time.

So we're building it.

We focus on longer stays. Weeks or months give you time to settle into a rhythm. To train consistently, explore more of the terrain and build confidence as you go.

Routes are shared. Plans are adjusted. People find their own pace over time.

We provide accommodation, trail access, local knowledge and the infrastructure that makes mountain living work. The community does the rest.

Our Values

What guides us.

Community

The best mountain experiences happen when knowledge is shared and friendships are built along the way. We create space where people feel welcomed, supported and connected.

Mountain Stewardship

Respect for mountains, nature, and local culture is fundamental. We protect the landscapes that make these experiences possible through responsible outdoor practices, Leave No Trace principles and approaching mountains with humility and preparation.

Growth & Challenge

Mountains push people to grow. We encourage curiosity, skill development and willingness to step outside comfort zones. Whether running a first trail race or preparing for major objectives, the mountains provide space to challenge limits and build resilience.

Intentional Living

Everything is designed with purpose. From physical layout to daily rhythms, we create an environment that encourages presence, balance and meaningful outdoor time. Rather than defaulting to busy or distracted lifestyles, we're built around intentional choices.

Cultural Connection

Japan offers extraordinary mountains, landscapes and traditions. We bridge outdoor communities and Japan's mountain culture, bringing together people from different backgrounds where perspectives are shared and connections grow naturally.

Our Story

How we got here.

We met while taking part in Izu Trail Journey in 2024, and started running together regularly soon after, spending more time in the mountains in and around Tokyo.

On a run around the Hakone Gairin Trail, we talked about wanting to work outdoors long term. Not in a distant or abstract way, but something practical. Helping people access the mountains more easily and with a bit more confidence.

The idea stayed with us.

In the summer of 2025, we were in Nagano for the Okushinano 100, travelling with a small group of friends and staying together in a lodge. Between the race, the drives and the time spent outside, it felt like a version of daily life that made sense.

At some point during that trip, the conversation shifted from "maybe one day" to something more concrete.

This started as a simple idea: to build something that allows more people to spend time in the mountains in a way that feels considered, accessible and grounded in real experience.
